MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

The objective of Public Integrity is to further the understanding of ethics and leadership in government by publishing articles of interest to practitioners and scholars. Especially appropriate are original studies, cases, exemplar profiles, field reports, and commentaries that ad-dress both regulatory and aspirational approaches to ethics. They may explore functional areas, substantive fields, and topical issues found in public administration and affairs. Investigations may focus on any level of government and its branches, nongovernmental actors that affect public policy, or public/private-sector relationships.

MANUSCRIPT SPECIFICATIONS

Papers, divided into suitable sections and subsections, should be 12–30 typewritten, double-spaced pages and should follow the style of past issues of the journal. Authors should include an abstract and a biographical sketch of approximately 50 words each and identify the submission as a research article, case study, exemplar profile, field report, or commentary. Author name, affiliation, and e-mail address should appear only on a separate cover page to facilitate review. Submission implies that the manuscript has not been published elsewhere and is not under consideration by another journal. Practitioner authors are encouraged to be broadly reflective on the profession of governance. Academic authors are expected to specify the implications of their work for practice.

SUBMISSION

Authors should submit one (1) copy to the editor in chief and four (4) copies to the managing editor. Electronic submissions should be prepared using MS Word.

JOURNAL ARTICLE INTERNET-POSTING POLICY

The abstract of an Author's article, with standard bibliographic information about the place and date of publication, may be posted anywhere at any time. Posting of the Author's own pre-published version of the article on a secure, restricted-access network within the Author’s employing institution is also permitted at any time, as long as the standard bibliographic information is provided. After an embargo period of 18 months from the date of publication, Authors may, at their own discretion, post their pre-published text on their own website or open-access institutional website. In all cases, full bibliographic information for the final, published version with a link to the Publisher's website, www.mesharpe.com/journals.asp, must be included with a note that the posted version is not the final, published version.
