Founded in 1958, M.E. Sharpe is a privately held publisher of books and journals in the social sciences and humanities, including titles in economics, political science, management and public administration, history, and literature. We also publish both original works and translations in Asian and East European studies. Our newest imprint, Sharpe Focus, offers high interest nonfiction book series for readers ages 12 and up. Thematically arranged and generously illustrated in vibrant color, these high quality book series support the national curriculum and cover a wide range of topics in social studies, world history, the arts, and science. All Sharpe Focus books can be ordered as sets or by individual title. Several Nobel Prize winners, including Ōe Kenzaburo and Wasily Leontief, are among our authors. Our East Gate Books imprint is widely recognized as representing the best in Asian Studies.
